It starts with the unibody upper. This lightweight reinforced design provides excellent foot support as you push on the pedals. Inside, the Performance Regular footbed also provides excellent foot support, giving you a solid pedalling platform to apply power. Large mesh vents are deployed strategically to ensure airflow is optimised while welded TPU reinforcements fend off rock strikes and protect against hidden tree stumps.  The SLW2 dial system and asymmetrical lacing allows you to dial in a snug fit but removes pressure over the top of the foot.  You then come to the XC 10 sole unit. This carbon-reinforced sole lets you gets off the line quickly and efficiently, speed out of berms and kick hard up steep inclines with minimal power loss. XC 10 Sole Unit The XC 10 sole gives you the finest support and efficiency in and out of the pedals. With a stiffness rating of 10 out of 15 on Northwave's scale, you can be sure power is smoothly applied to the pedals. But with a touch of flex, you'll also find rough terrain won't cause discomfort. The TPU inserts deliver excellent traction when you're off the bike and offer outstanding wear resistance. SLW2 closure system Keeping the fit snug and comfortable, the SLW2 closure system allows you to dial in the fit just how you like it. The micro-adjust dial gives precise control of the fit but then at the end of a ride, a single button release makes it easy to kick off your shoes. Quick. Simple, Durable.
